Welcome Address by Dr. Hinemoa Elder,
congress president for IACAPAP 2028

Warm greetings from Aotearoa, New Zealand.
It is a huge honour to invite you to come to IACAPAP 2028
in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, Aotearoa, New Zealand 2028.
Our congress theme is:
Tāmaki Manaaki, Manaaki Tamariki, Manaaki Manuhiri.
Our responsibility is to look after our children and our guests.
Tamariki, children are the heart of our communities. Our theme expresses the deep call we all feel to uphold our responsibilities as child and adolescent mental health professionals about the vital importance of our contribution to communities taking care of children.
Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, has long been a meeting place, where people have gravitated to discuss, to exchange ideas and to make decisions. Together we will continue that tradition. Many of you have always wanted to come to Aotearoa, New Zealand. Now is the time. My name is Dr. Hinemoa Elder, and I will be your Congress President.
IACAPAP 2028 is about how we collaborate and connect through
understanding ways in which children thrive and flourish. For if there is ever a time where indigenous knowledge needs to be heard alongside other forms of knowledge it is now.
Nau mai, haramai ki Tāmaki Manaaki, IACAPAP 2028, Aotearoa, New Zealand.
